Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning store-bought or homemade
  • 2 tablespoons butter for searing
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice for serving

Equipment

  • Cast-Iron Skillet For achieving the perfect blackened crust
  • Tongs For flipping the chicken easily

Method

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry and coat them evenly with Cajun seasoning on both sides.
  2. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until very hot. Add butter to the pan.
  3. Place the chicken in the skillet and sear for 5-6 minutes without moving it, allowing the crust to develop.
  4. Flip the chicken and cook for another 5-6 minutes, or until fully cooked.
  5. Remove from the pan and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Drizzle with fresh lemon juice.

Notes

  • For a milder version, reduce the amount of cayenne in the Cajun seasoning.
  • Great for meal prep—slice it up and use it in sandwiches or salads.
  • Serve with garlic rice, grilled vegetables, or coleslaw for a balanced meal.
