Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets fresh or thawed if frozen
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • fresh cilantro chopped, for garnish
  • lime wedges for serving

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl For preparing the chili lime glaze
  • Skillet or Grill Pan For cooking the salmon
  • Tongs For flipping the salmon fillets
  • Basting Brush For coating the salmon with glaze

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together lime juice, lime zest, honey, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic, and olive oil.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry and coat them generously with the glaze. Let sit for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the salmon skin-side down and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, basting with extra glaze.
  4. Let the remaining glaze reduce slightly in the pan, then spoon over the salmon.
  5. Serve immediately with chopped cilantro and lime wedges.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add cayenne pepper or an extra dash of chili powder.
  • Use fresh salmon for the best flavor and texture.
  • If using frozen salmon, thaw completely and pat dry before cooking.
