Pineapple teriyaki grilled pork is the perfect combination of smoky, sweet, and savory flavors. Juicy pork is marinated in a homemade teriyaki sauce made with soy sauce, pineapple juice, brown sugar, garlic, and fresh ginger, then grilled to perfection. Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops bone-in or boneless
  • ⅓ cup soy sauce low-sodium recommended
  • ¼ cup pineapple juice fresh or canned
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 4 pineapple rings for grilling

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl For preparing the marinade
  • Grill or Grill Pan For cooking the pork and pineapple
  • Tongs For flipping the pork and pineapple slices
  • Brush For basting the pork with extra marinade

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, pineapple juice, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
  2. Place pork chops in a dish or ziplock bag and pour the marinade over them. Marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight for best flavor.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F/200°C).
  4. Grill the pork chops for 5-6 minutes per side, basting with extra marinade, until caramelized and fully cooked (internal temperature of 145°F/63°C).
  5. Grill pineapple rings for 2-3 minutes per side until slightly charred.
  6. Remove from the grill and let the pork rest for 5 minutes before serving with grilled pineapple and extra teriyaki sauce.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • Serve with steamed rice, grilled vegetables, or coconut rice for a full meal.
  • If using canned pineapple, drain well before grilling to avoid excess moisture.
